E-mail hosting

Web-based e-mail

Flexible businesses need flexible access to e-mail. Linuxpeak hosts Web-based e-mail software that allows people to access their inbox from any computer with a Web browser.

Recent trends in JavaScript development have brought a new dimension to the experience of Web-based e-mail. Web-based e-mail now has an equivalent level of usability of traditional desktop e-mail applications that are confined to one computer.

Instant messaging

Instant messaging, or "IM", is now a form of communication as accessible as e-mail. IM has became popular as a form of rapid communication between friends over the Internet, but is also used by many businesses who need a simple, immediate "cyber meeting". Linuxpeak uses IM extensively for staff to communicate and collaborate around the world. Linuxpeak's IM services have an immediate, positive effect on business communication options.

Messaging security

Is your organisation being bombarded with spam that's out of control? Linuxpeak has a dedicated service to protect organisations from unsolicited messages.

Online security gateway

Linuxpeak's online security gateway works as a proxy server to screen incoming messages. The gateway resides on Linuxpeak's infrastructure so all that is required is to update the organisations mail exchange settings so messages are routed through the gateway. Most e-mail systems are supported by the security gateway and no mail server configuration is required.

Anti-spam

In today's e-mail centric business environment unsolicited messaging remains a constant problem. Linuxpeak's secrity gateway employs numerous techniques to proactively prevents spam instead of just quarantining it or later approval (itself a very time consuming process).

The organisation can control the message filter lists - the whitelist (approved senders) and blacklist (disapproved senders) - so the chances of false positives (where the anti-spam service rejects a valid message) are eliminated for known e-mail addresses.

Anti-virus

In addition to spam prevention the online security gateway can be configured for virus scanning. AS with anti-spam services, stopping viruses from entering the organisation's network is generally more secure than trying to scan and "clean" desktop computers.

Moreover, if your organisation already uses desktop anti-virus products you can always subscribe to Linuxpeak's online security gateway for an additional layer of security.
